Discover the information and services that standards bodies offer SMEs to facilitate their access to standards and Standardisation.
Many standards bodies provide webpages dedicated to SMEs and specific services to facilitate their access to information about Standardisation and access to standards. CEN and CENELEC have put together an SME Toolbox of Solutions providing a one-stop service point for European SMEs that wish to understand more about and contribute to European Standardisation . This page also includes links to the CEN and CENELEC members’ national SME helpdesks that provide direct support to SMEs via e-mail or phone in their national language. Most national standards bodies also provide national SME toolboxes or webpages dedicated to SMEs.s
In 2010, CEN and CENELEC adopted the so-called Guide 17, a list of recommendations that standards makers should consider when writing standards to ensure they meet SME needs. The guide was also adopted by ISO and IEC in 2016. Guide 17 is available in several European languages.
