    SME Compatibility Test for Standards

    SBS has developed a test for the assessment of the compatibility of standards with SME needs. Test a standard to see if it can be easily applied by smaller companies!

    Useful External Resources

    Discover the information and services that standards bodies offer SMEs to facilitate their access to standards and  standardisation.In 2010, CEN and CENELEC adopted the so-called Guide 17, a list of recommendations that standards makers should consider when writing standards to ensure they meet SME needs. The guide was also adopted by ISO and IEC in 2016. Guide 17 is available in several European languages.

Open call for experts to represent SMEs in standardisation work at the EU and international levels

SBS’ mission is to represent SMEs in the standardisation process, motivate them to get involved and raise their awareness about standardisation. In this context, SBS has just launched its open call for experts to represent SMEs in standardisation at the European and international levels.

We are looking for candidates with technical expertise on any standardisation topic relevant to SMEs who hold an SME or craft-oriented background/knowledge. The selected experts will represent the European SME position in standardisation Technical Committees, Sub-Committees and Working Groups in CEN, CENELEC, ETSI, ISO and IEC.

Application deadline: 9 September 2022

A webinar will be organised on 30 August 2022 to introduce SBS and present the call for experts. This will allow interested candidates to ask questions about the call and the role of SBS experts.
