Discover the information and services that standards bodies offer SMEs to facilitate their access to standards and standardisation.In 2010, CEN and CENELEC adopted the so-called Guide 17, a list of recommendations that standards makers should consider when writing standards to ensure they meet SME needs. The guide was also adopted by ISO and IEC in 2016. Guide 17 is available in several European languages.

SBS Workshop | Digital Skills for the Digital Transformation of the PPE, Textile Care, and Medical Devices Sectors

We are pleased to invite you to our upcoming Small Business Standards Workshop on “Digital Skills for the Digital Transformation of the PPE, Textile Care, and Medical Devices Sectors”, taking place on 12 June 2025 from 10:30 to 15:00, in Frankfurt & Online.

This workshop is dedicated to industry experts, policymakers, and standardisation representatives to discuss the key digital competencies needed in the sectors, EU initiatives, and technologies such as data management, IoT, and smart labelling solutions. Discussions will focus on the challenges and opportunities related to digital competences, particularly for SMEs, as well as the role of data management in compliance with ecodesign and Digital Product Passport requirements. The workshop will also explore the infrastructure of labelling technologies, including RFID, and feature an interactive session on the impact of digitalisation on industry innovation.
