DIGITAL SME and SBS organise workshop in Delft about “Education on standardisation in Europe”

The workshop, entitled “SME perspectives on standards education: vocational training & life-long learning”, was organised by the European DIGITAL SME Alliance in cooperation with SBS. It was held today in the framework of the conference “Education on standardisation in Europe”, organised by the European Commission High-Level Forum on European Standardisation which took place in Delft (The Netherlands) on 17 and 18 June.

Speakers included Alexander Chourreau (European Digital SME Alliance), Andreas Schumacher (DTV), Antonino Bonano (Institute for Advanced Energy Technologies Nicola Giordano), Danny Gleeson (Realtra Space Systems Engineering) and Enrico Frumento (Cefriel).

The workshop discussed, inter alia, the challenges faced by SMEs in relation to standards training, the need to make use of networked training and to promote further cooperation between all relevant stakeholders, the provision of funding for the development of standards training for SMEs and the implementation of hands on,  flexible and targeted training solutions for SMEs.
