Commission publishes guidelines on PPE, hand cleaners, disinfectants and 3D printing

Following the publication of Recommendation (EU) 2020/403 on conformity assessment and market surveillance procedures within the context of the COVID-19 threat on 16 March, the European Commission has now published guidance for manufacturers to increase production in three areas: masks and other personal protective equipment (PPE), hand cleaners, disinfectants and 3D printing. SBS welcomes this initiative, which together with CEN and CENELEC’s recent decision to provide the free download of a series of standards covering these products should help to ramp up production of PPE and other relevant products in the context of the current crisis.
